The Watlow Ceramic Fiber heater offers some of the highest temperature heating element capabilities of
any Watlow heaters. Watlow ceramic fiber heaters are made by integrating an iron-chrome-aluminum (ICA)
heating element and ceramic fiber insulation. The ceramic fiber insulation isolates the high temperatures
inside the heating chamber. The heaters are low mass, fast heating, with high insulation values and the
self-supported heating elements. Many applications can benefit from the convenience of the Watlow ceramic
fiber heater’s heating element and insulation combined into one package. Ceramic fiber is an insulation made of an alumina-silica composition, held together by an inorganic binder.
It’s commonly used as a refractory material. Its lightweight, low-density properties make it ideally suited for
high temperature applications requiring low thermal mass. The design of the Watlow ceramic fiber heater
allows operating temperatures as high as 2200°F (1204°C) and watt densities ranging from 5 to
30 W/in2 (0.8 to 4.6 W/cm2) Please contact us to order a Watlow Ceramic Fiber heater. To help us determine which Watlow heater will
best satisfy your application requirements, please determine as closely as possible the size, shape, voltage,
heating area, wattage/watt density, operating temperature, and required options of the heater you will need.
